Welcome to St. Nessan’s National School

St. Nessan’s National School is a co-educational Catholic Primary School situated in the parish of Mungret/Crecora/Raheen on the western outskirts of Limerick City. There are up to seven hundred pupils attending St. Nessan’s from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. Our ethos is to foster the spiritual, moral, intellectual, social and cultural development of the pupils in a safe and happy atmosphere.

Our motto is ‘Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí’, which means “Praise the young and they will flourish”, and our school crest displays this alongside a portrayal of Mungret Monastery which, tradition and local lore tell us, had up to one thousand five hundred students in medieval times. Please browse our website for detailed information about the many aspects of school life.
